How To Book

  1. Choose Your House
    Click on the photo of the house you wish to book. If you want to book the two River Houses, click on the fourth photo.
  • Note: This will open a new page. Click on the photo to view the full gallery for that house. Scroll through the photos to see each picture, with the last photo being the floor plan. The Hidden Escape & River Lookout floor plans also include an artist's depiction of the grounds, showing the house's relationship to parking, the swimming pool, and more.

  1. Find the Booking Calendar
    After selecting the property you wish to book, locate the booking calendar under the photos on the right side. Click on the box showing the nightly rate range to open the calendar for the current and next month. Use the small arrow next to the last visible month to advance to the desired month if it's not the current or next one.

  1. Choose Your Dates
    Once you find the month with your desired dates, click on your arrival date and then on your departure date.
  • Note:  Red dates are already booked. If you make a mistake, use the "CLEAR" button inside the calendar booking box to start over.  See FAQ page for why you won't be able to book a Stay that starts or ends with a Saturday.

  1. Pets?
    Indicate the number of dogs you plan to bring during your stay. The first dog is the most expensive, and adding more dogs reduces the average cost.
  • Note:  We allow dogs with a paid pet fee. Our Pet Policy is included in the Rental Agreement, which you can review before booking. A PDF of the Rental Agreement will be emailed to you after booking or submitting a booking request.

  1. Select People
    Enter the total number of people (adults and children) who will spend the night. The next page will allow you to add any visitors. If you have children, under the age of 4, up to 3 of these children (under 4 years old) do not need to be included in the guest count for the quote.
  • Note:  Once you enter the overnight guest count, the website will automatically calculate the total for booking these dates. "Our Unique Rate Structure" just below this text provides more details on the itemized quote the website generates.

  1. Ready to Book? Got Questions?
    Click the "Reserve" button (between the guest count and quote) to move to the next page.  You're not booked after hitting "Reserve" only advancing to another page.

  1. Review Your Quote - Lock In Your Dates Today Page
    Review your Invoice, booked dates, overnight guest count, payment due dates, and more.  If you need to make edits, you can do so on this page.  FYI this invoice automatically includes 4% credit card processing fee.  This can be removed, if you choose to make a payment using an alternative method to a debit or credit card.

  1. Review Booking Details, Make Any Changes, Add Options, and Move to Finalize Your Booking
    Important! If you plan to have visitors not included in your overnight guest count, enter your visitor count here. You can also add firewood to your stay and, if traveling with an RV to one of the River Houses, you can add the option of RV hookups with power and water. A sewage drain-out is available upon departure. Details on these and other options can be found in the FAQ section of our website.

  1. Rental Agreement
    A. Read our Rental Agreement.
    B. Check off that you agree to its terms and conditions.
    C. Provide a signature (as best as possible) in the indicated space.
    D. Upload a copy of the booking person's driver's license.
  • Note:  We aim to avoid any unwanted surprises for our guests. Our Rental Agreement is detailed and packed with information, including the Pet Policy, Departure Checklist, property details, Pool/Hot Tub rules, sleeping accommodations, and much more. With almost 40 years as a long-term landlord and nearly 15 years as a short-term rental host, we understand the importance of clear communication.

  1. Fill Out the Brief Renter Info Form
    Provide your name, mobile phone number, email address, any comments or questions.
  • Note: If you haven't elected to pay by credit card, include details on your payment method in the message area, such as "I'm putting a check in the mail tomorrow" or inquire about electronic payment options that don't incur a 4% processing fee.

  1. Choose Your Payment Method:  CREDIT or DEBIT CARD Payment
    The page defaults to having "Credit Card (4% processing fee applies).  By leaving this checked and clicking:  "Secure Your Booking - Pay Now" button, you'll be taken to the "Payment Request" page, where you can securely enter your credit card information and book your desired property instantly. 
  • Choose Your Payment Method:  CHECK or OTHER Payment
  • By Clicking the "Check" or Other" it will also remove the 4% Credit Card processing fee from the Booking Invoice.  Then click the "Request to Book" button.  This will submit your Booking Request to us and within a few minutes, as long as you've entered your email address correctly, you'll receive the auto-generated "Booking Request" email for the property you've selected.

  1. Request to Book or Secure your Booking - Pay Now
    A. If not making a credit card payment today, after hitting the "Request to Book" button, you'll receive an email with your quote, a link to the Rental Agreement, details on how to proceed with booking the Property you've selected.  If you haven't made a credit card payment and received an email specifically confirming your payment, you have not blocked off the dates for your desired property yet.  We are aware you are interest, but it is still available for another to book and if these dates are important to you, we urge you to not delay in following the steps outlined in the email you'll receive after submitting your Booking Request, to secure your desired dates and property for your group.
    B. If making a credit card payment, complete the payment process to receive an email confirmation of your payment, booking invoice, and Rental Agreement.

Payment Options


Accepted Payment Methods


  • I. PAYMENT BY CHECK
  • We will accept personal or business checks as long as they are received at least 30 days prior to arrival.  We will also accept US Post Office money orders.  Once the "Request to Book" button has hit (as long as your email address has been entered correctly), you'll receive an email letting you know that we've received your Booking Request which will contain the information you'll need to complete your booking, such as where to mail the check, and more. 
  •  
  • Note:  We generally do not "Hold Dates" until the payment is received.  Those choosing to secure their booking by mailing a Check can have their dates secured by 1)  sending the Check by US Priority Mail (around $10) 2) texting a photo of the check & US Post Office Receipt showing tracking # and expected date of arrival.  We will immediately block these dates from another booking them in anticipation of receiving the payment.

  • II. PAYMENT BY CREDIT or DEBIT CARD
  • This method carries a 4% Processing Fee, the fee our Credit Card processor charges us, we pass onto our guests who wish to secure their booking with a credit card.  By choosing to pay with a Credit or Debit you can instantly book your desired dates and desired property Instantly.  With few exceptions these instant bookings will be accepted.  We do reserve the right to decline a booking for less than 7 nights made more than 8 months in advance of the arrival date, less than 7 nights being booked over the Cruisin the Coast Week, less than 4 nights made more than 3 months of the arrival date and should there be a glitch in our booking system resulting in substantial difference in rates posted on commercial booking sites and this site.   
  •  
  • Note:  For the average booking, without a large number of overnighter guests, visiting guests, or Pets, when using a Credit Card, we will consider placing a "HOLD" on the credit card, instead of requiring a cash Refundable Deposit.  This option is not available to Debit card users, due to restrictions from our Credit Card Processing company.

  • III. PAYMENT BY DIGITAL/ELECTRONIC PAYMENT VEHICLES USING "NO FEES" FRIENDS/FAMILY METHODS
  • We do accept some "Fee Free" Electronic payments.  All required Payments are "Net" and should there be any fees associated with them, the fees will also be due.  When you submit your "Request to Book" the follow-up email contains details on accepted payment methods.  Should you find we currently aren't accepting your preferred payment method, don't hesitate to let us know, we may be able to expand our current accepted payment methods. 
  •  
  • Note:  Booking Invoice defaults to assuming the initial payment will be by Credit or Debit card and automatically adds the 4% processing fee.  On the "Review your Quote" after hitting "Reserve" you'll have the opportunity to check off your desired payment method.  By checking anything other than "Credit Card" the 4% processing fee will be removed from the Booking Invoice.

  • 1-Night Stays: Priced the same as a 2-night booking. This is perfect for last-minute or single-night getaways when availability allows.
